Is a website really important?

Look closely and consider the many businesses that are operating widely in the world today, one can agree that some portions of them do not have a website especially in Malawi. In this modern age most consumers search online for information that will help them make smarter purchasing decisions. In fact, according to the e-commerce Foundation, 88% of consumers will research product information before they make a purchase online or in the store. This buying behavior trend emphasizes the importance of a website for today’s businesses. If you want your company to be successful in the modern marketplace, you need a professional website.

The web is a wonderful place. It connects people from across the globe, keeps us updated with our friends and family, and creates revolutions. It has certainly come a long way since its humble beginnings back in the early 1980’s. By 1980 Tim Berners-Lee wanted a way to link the different information available on computers so as to better mimic the way a human brain stores and recalls information.

In order to understand the origin of the World Wide Web it’s important to understand the differences between the World Wide Web and The Internet. Many people refer to them as the same thing, but in fact, although the end result is the common perception of most everyday users, they are very different. The internet is a series of huge computer networks that allows many computers to connect and communicate with each other globally. Upon the internet resides a series of languages which allow information to travel between computers. These are known as protocols. Whereas the web is simply the totality of information which is accessed via the internet.

Predicting the future is always risky and sometimes impossible. It is especially tricky when the subject is changing as rapidly as the Internet. Internet trends are beginning to spread to every facet of our world and have taken hold in all major industries. The Internet has the potential to increase productivity in a variety of very clear, but mutually reinforcing ways.

The most important attribute of the Internet also may be the most obvious: it can transmit information quickly, conveniently, and inexpensively. Routine transactions, including making payments, processing and transmitting financial information, and maintaining records, can be handled less expensively with web-based technology. Using Internet technology, many business enterprises, especially those in data-intensive industries such as financial services and medical care, can reduce their cost of production.

The use of the Internet as a management tool may have considerable potential for improving efficiency in many sectors of the economy and may cause significant restructuring of those sectors in the process. These efficiencies can show up within the business enterprise, in many way such as better information-sharing across the company, and more efficient interactions with other firms in the supply chain.

Today, having a company website is as crucial as having a shop, office or telephone number. Why wait any longer your customers are looking for you! Having a website means customers are always able to find you – anytime, anywhere. Even outside of business hours, your website continues to find and secure new customers. A website provides a quick and easy way of communicating information between buyers and sellers. You can list your opening hours, contact information, show images of your location or products, and use contact forms to facilitate enquiries from potential customers or feedback from existing ones.

As your site is accessible to anyone all over the world, the ability to break through geographical barriers has never been easier. Anyone, from any country, will be able to find your company and as such, is now a potential customer.

Every business, big or small knows the importance of advertising. Signs play a big role in advertising the business. Customers buy from a brand or a business they already know, and an attractive and outstanding sign will help you stay ahead in competition. Depending on the location the signs may vary in forms & size and digital or electronic displays.

A sign will always convey information about the brand, their services and facilities. An effective sign will always have a company logo which will help in emphasizing the brand. The reason that their visibility and results are constant is that they are used to promote business, sales & discounts and are visible 24×7.

By getting a website it makes it possible for anyone in the world to find your business. In the same case consider your inability of acquiring and having a website to be an indication of no known business existing, for a business with no sign is a sign of no business.
